

A well-established, growing supplier in the heavy-duty commercial vehicle braking market is looking for an experienced engineer to lead its automatic slack adjuster program. This technical leadership position will define the product architecture, set the technical roadmap, and drive the engineering effort from concept through production launch.
The organization brings a fully established internal engineering infrastructure to support the work, including validation laboratories, simulation capability, manufacturing engineering, and benchmarking resources — giving the right candidate the runway to build something foundational rather than incremental.
Technical Leadership
• Develop the overall product architecture and technical roadmap
• Mentor and lead supporting engineers
• Own technical risk identification and mitigation
Product Development
• Develop system architecture and lead design of all major sub-assemblies and components
• Define performance, durability, and validation requirements
• Design for manufacturability, automation, and cost
• Lead DFMEA and design reviews
Validation
• Develop the validation plan
• Define laboratory and vehicle testing programs
Competitive Analysis
• Benchmark competitive products
• Understand and design to Voice of the Customer
• Assess competitive IP
Manufacturing
• Partner with manufacturing and automation teams to ensure ease of manufacture
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
• Hands-on experience across multiple aspects of automatic slack adjuster design and testing
Technical Expertise — Automatic Slack Adjusters
• Adjuster mechanism design

• Body design with FEA simulation
• Thermal / environmental management
10+ years of progressive engineering experience in heavy-duty commercial vehicle braking systems or closely related products. Experience should preferably include automatic slack adjusters, foundation brakes, wheel end systems, and related components.
