ELECTRICIAN
Purpose:
Our client is seeking a Qualified Electrician with 2–3 years’ post trade industrial maintenance experience to join their maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical maintenance, fault-finding, repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance on factory machinery, equipment, and facilities.
Qualifications
Qualified Artisan (Electrician).
Minimum of 2–3 years’ post trade maintenance experience with medium to heavy industrial equipment.
Skills & Knowledge
Strong understanding of medium to high-voltage control systems and switchgear.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on industrial machinery.
Knowledge of relevant safety standards, including SABS 0142 and NOSA regulations.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and preventative electrical maintenance on factory machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime.
Conduct electrical maintenance and repairs on buildings and facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Install, test, and commission electrical systems, components, and equipment as required.
Inspect, maintain, and repair safety equipment, including emergency stops, overload settings, and safety cycles on presses.
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and avoid unsafe practices, such as circuit bridging for temporary or quick repairs.
Respond promptly to electrical faults and breakdowns, providing efficient and effective solutions.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and installations.
Assist with additional duties as required, particularly during staff absences, breakdowns, or emergencies.
Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and team members to identify and implement improvements to electrical systems and maintenance processes.
