

Our client is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Regional Sales Engineer to join their Sales Team.
The ideal candidate will be based in Gauteng, with regular travel to KwaZulu-Natal and occasional travel elsewhere in Africa.
The successful candidate will be responsible for growing sales within an established territory by identifying new business opportunities, developing customer relationships, providing technical solutions, negotiating equipment sales and supporting customers throughout the sales process.
The role requires an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills.
Business Development & Customer Management
Identify and develop new business opportunities and potential customers.
Conduct outbound prospecting through telephone, email, LinkedIn and other business development channels.
Follow up on leads and prospective customers.
Research new manufacturing facilities, plant expansions, industry developments and growth opportunities within the assigned territory.
Maintain accurate customer, prospect and opportunity records within the CRM system.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse customer base within the materials handling industry.
Technical Sales & Customer Support
Respond directly to customer enquiries and requirements.
Evaluate customer material-handling projects.
Design material-handling systems to meet customer requirements.
Review engineering specifications and assist with system design.
Determine appropriate pricing and prepare quotations.
Follow up with customers and negotiate to secure orders.
Provide technical sales support to internal sales personnel.
Review quotations prepared by office-based sales staff.
Project Support
Gather all relevant information required for engineering, production and controls teams to design and manufacture systems.
Act as a liaison between customers and internal departments throughout the production process.
Assist with resolving customer queries during project execution.
Monitor and track leads and quotations through the CRM system.
Provide ongoing support to ensure successful delivery of customer requirements.

Proficiency in standard computer applications, including CRM systems and Microsoft Office 365, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly.
National Senior Certificate (Matric).
Strong technical background and aptitude.
A Diploma or qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field will be advantageous but is not essential.
Previous experience in technical sales, engineering sales, materials handling, process equipment or a related industry would be advantageous.
