

Our client is seeking an experienced High Net Worth Tax Supervisor/Manager to oversee complex tax engagements for high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, estates, gifts, partnerships, and related entities.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with high-net-worth clients and a background in tax compliance, review, tax planning, advisory services, client management, staff supervision, and business development.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee tax engagements from initial planning through completion, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
Develop a strong understanding of clients' businesses, financial situations, and tax objectives.
Prepare, review, and manage tax deliverables, including tax returns, extensions, tax planning calculations, and related work.
Work with various entity types, including:
High-net-worth individuals
Trusts and estates
C-Corporations
S-Corporations
Partnerships
Multi-state entities
Prepare and review complex tax planning projections for individuals and business entities.
Prepare and review complex U.S., multi-state, and international income tax returns.
Manage and monitor client deliverables, deadlines, and engagement workflow.
Conduct complex tax research and prepare technical memoranda outlining findings and conclusions.
Communicate with the IRS and state tax agencies regarding audits, inquiries, tax notices, and other client matters.
Delegate projects to staff based on their skills and workload.
Provide technical accounting and tax guidance to staff as needed.
Supervise, mentor, and assist with the professional development of tax staff.
Communicate directly with clients, colleagues, management, and IRS representatives regarding various tax matters.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
Assist with business development activities, including:
Meeting with prospective and existing clients
Preparing fee quotes and proposals
Evaluating client needs
Identifying additional tax and advisory opportunities
Maintain strong knowledge of tax software, processes, and engagement workflows.
Assist with employee training, onboarding, and ongoing technical development.
Participate in consulting engagements and special projects as requested by management and clients.
Work closely with Partners and other members of the tax department.
Required Qualifications
CPA or EA required.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a related field.
5–7+ years of public accounting experience.
Strong experience with individual, corporate, and partnership taxation.
Previous experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families.
Experience with tax compliance, tax review, planning, and advisory services.
Strong client-management and communication skills.
Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing tax professionals.
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet strict deadlines.
Preferred Experience
HNW individual tax experience.
Experience with trusts, estates, and gift taxation.
Experience handling complex tax planning and projections.
Multi-state tax experience.
Experience working with closely held businesses and related entities.
Business development and client relationship management experience.
Candidates located in New York or New Jersey are highly preferred.
