Health and Safety Officer (FMCG Industry)

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to join a dynamic FMCG environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving and maintaining a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across the organisation, ensuring full compliance with all relevant FMCG legislation and industry standards.

This role requires a hands-on professional with strong leadership abilities, a passion for workplace safety, and the ability to implement effective risk management, training, and environmental initiatives. The ideal candidate will have proven experience within a managerial HSE role in the FMCG industry and the ability to engage employees at all levels to promote continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Health & Safety Oversight

• Perform routine risk assessments and investigate incidents to determine root causes and implement preventative measures.

• Coordinate and conduct internal health and safety audits to ensure adherence to OHS legislation, regulations, and company standards.

• Monitor compliance testing for machinery, equipment, and occupational hygiene requirements.

• Develop and maintain emergency preparedness procedures, including fire response, medical emergencies, and disaster recovery protocols.

• Manage and maintain all mandatory legal health and safety appointments.

• Drive health and safety objectives in line with broader organisational goals and monitor performance indicators.

Environmental Management

• Manage environmental compliance initiatives, including waste control, environmental impact processes, and sustainability programmes.

• Encourage environmentally responsible practices and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Training & Employee Engagement

• Coordinate and deliver health and safety training initiatives, including hazard identification and PPE compliance.

• Promote employee wellness and mental health awareness to support a positive safety culture.

• Encourage workforce participation and feedback in health and safety initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related qualification.

• 5–10 years’ experience in a Health & Safety Management role.

• Previous experience within the FMCG industry essential
