Data Privacy Specialist – Contract

Rate: £650 - £750 p/day (Outside IR35)

Duration: 12 months+

Location: Remote (UK based)

Start date: ASAP

This is a hands-on delivery role, working across the business playing a key role in a major data privacy programme to strengthen privacy governance, improve existing processes and controls, and embed a more consistent approach to managing personal data.

The role:

You’ll work across a broad programme of privacy improvement, taking ownership of key deliverables including:

• Improving data inventories, retention schedules, ROPA and privacy notices

• Reviewing and strengthening privacy policies, procedures, controls and governance

• Embedding Privacy by Design into business change, technology and AI governance

• Improving privacy operations including DSAR, intake, triage and reporting processes

• Strengthening third-party privacy governance, supplier assessments and Data Processing Agreements

• Supporting training, awareness and the development of a stronger privacy culture

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

You’ll need significant data privacy experience gained in complex and highly regulated financial services organisations.

Including:

• Strong practical knowledge of UK and international data protection and privacy requirements

• Experience delivering privacy transformation or remediation programmes

• Hands-on experience with ROPA, data mapping, retention and privacy governance

• Experience developing policies, controls, procedures and supporting documentation

• Strong third-party data and supplier privacy experience

• Experience working with senior stakeholders across technology, data, legal, risk and business teams

• Clear communication skills and the ability to turn privacy requirements into practical action

This is a delivery-focused contract for someone comfortable working across multiple privacy workstreams and getting things done.
