Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Advisory Manager to lead advanced tax planning and advisory initiatives for complex individual and business clients.

This is a highly strategic role for a tax professional who goes beyond traditional compliance and understands how to apply complex areas of the Internal Revenue Code to develop sophisticated, legally compliant tax strategies.

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical tax knowledge, strong research skills, commercial judgment, and the ability to translate complex tax concepts into practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine sophisticated tax planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals, businesses, investors, and complex client profiles.

• Research and apply advanced tax positions involving income, investments, business structures, and alternative assets.

• Advise clients and internal teams on working-interest structures, fund investments, and alternative investment tax treatment.

• Analyze complex tax issues and identify opportunities for proactive, legally compliant tax planning.

• Provide technical guidance and deal-specific tax analysis to client-facing advisors.

• Collaborate with the founding team on new tax products, advisory services, and strategic initiatives.

• Conduct detailed research into complex provisions of the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, IRS guidance, and related tax authorities.

• Help develop practical tax strategies that align with clients' financial and business objectives.

• Contribute to tax thought leadership, including educational content, AMAs, presentations, and client resources.

• Stay current on changes in federal tax legislation, regulations, IRS guidance, and emerging tax-planning strategies.

• Work independently while collaborating closely with leadership and other tax professionals.

Qualifications

• CPA, EA, JD, or LLM in Tax required.

• 8+ years of experience in tax planning, tax advisory, or strategic tax consulting.

• Strong technical understanding of federal taxation and advanced tax-planning concepts.

• Demonstrated experience providing advisory services beyond traditional tax compliance.

• Ability to research and interpret complex sections of the Internal Revenue Code and related tax authorities.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.

• Ability to independently develop and evaluate sophisticated tax strategies.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Commercial mindset with the ability to translate technical tax strategies into practical client solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Regulation D investments.

• Experience with oil & gas (O&G) investments and structures.

• Experience with alternative investments and sophisticated tax strategies.

• Experience advising high-net-worth individuals, business owners, investors, or closely held businesses.

• Experience developing tax-related products, services, educational content, or thought leadership.
