Senior Data Engineer (EMEA & US Projects)

A leading Data Engineering and AI consulting firm is looking for an experienced (Senior) Data Engineer to work with EMEA and US clients, helping them solve complex data engineering, ML/MLOps, and cloud migration challenges.

What will you do?

You'll deliver on some of our most complex projects across industries — individually or by leading small delivery teams. Although we work with large multinational companies, our projects are fast-paced, typically 2 to 4 months long. Most are delivered using Apache Spark on AWS/Azure, and you'll be expected to directly manage client relationships, alongside a Project Manager when needed. At this seniority level, we also expect you to multiply your impact across the team — by mentoring junior engineers, evaluating their work, and contributing to hiring.

What does it take?

• Consultant mindset — you prioritize work with the client in mind and advise on best-in-class technical solutions rather than purely executing tasks

• Strong communication skills — you can articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

• Solid software engineering foundations — stack-agnostic, significant Unix/Linux experience, strong understanding of Distributed Systems, and familiarity with software engineering best practices

• Data & Cloud experience — hands-on with data-intensive applications, strong SQL & NoSQL skills; exposure to Real-Time Data Processing, Apache Spark, and/or the Big Data ecosystem is a plus

• Mentoring & knowledge-sharing — you actively invest in the growth of those around you; prior technical mentoring or people management experience is a big plus

• Ownership mindset — you solve problems independently and step up as a technical lead when needed; you proactively identify and fill organizational, process, or communication gaps

• Fluent English and willingness to travel (mainly within the EU, short business trips) up to 15% of your time

Compensation

• Medior: 1,200,000 – 1,700,000 HUF gross/month

• Senior: 1,700,000 – 2,300,000 HUF gross/month
